    Description

    Eastern Airlines (later absorbed by Continental Airlines and then United Airlines) initiated Boeing 727 “Whisperjet” service in two directions from Columbus to Miami on October 31, 1965.
    This cover was carried on the inaugural Air Mail Route 6 & 10 flight from the Columbus, Ohio Airport Mail Facility to Miami, Florida (where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Jet Flights section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as J-1088Sf.
